NFL Veteran and Pro bowler, Wade Smith, will grab his Hat & Read to Celebrate 'DR SEUSS DAY!

HOUSTON, TX - Former Texans Offensive Lineman, Wade Smith, and the Wade Smith Foundation, will bring other NFL athletes and Houston professionals together for a special 'DR. SEUSS DAY - Reading with the Pros' on Monday, March 2, 2015to he studentsfrom Young Scholars for Excellence Academy at the

Tellepsen Downtown YMCA (808 Pease St.) from 1 pm to 2 pm.

Wade Smith, who will be dressed as Dr. Seuss, will be joined by his wife Rita Smith, former NCAA Basketball player and wife to Wade Smith, Courtney Gilmore, KPRC Channel 2 Weekend Morning Anchor, Edwin Harrison, 2014 CFL Grey Cup Champion and Houston native, Jonathan Singh, Pop Singer and Christopher Williams (aka DJ Cruize Control), Red Bull DJ and Owner of BPM Music Group.

The Wade Smith Foundation's 'Reading with the Pros' Literacy Tour (RWTP) promotes and supports childhood literacy and education through celebrity book readings and classroom visits. Over 75 current/former NFL players and college athletes have joined Wade Smith at over 25 reading events at public libraries and elementary schools throughout Houston and Dallas, Texas since the program began in April 2012. The tour recently left Texas and joined forces with Grammy award winner singer and songwriter Chrisette Michelle and Singer and Actress Jordin Sparks during Super Bowl in Phoenix, AZ.

The Wade Smith Foundation will join millions of people across the country and thousands in the City of Houston to celebrate DR SEUSS DAY Monday, March 2, 2015. To honor the good doctor and celebrate the fun and value of reading, the Wade Smith Foundation is asking you to join them and many of America's leading literacy, youth, and civic groups in bringing a nation of readers together under the stovepipe hat made famous by the Cat in the Hat for a flurry of reading excitement!
