Happy Hour Cocktails 4 A Cause
TEXANS WHITNEY MERCILUS AND TEAMMATES BECOME BARTENDERS FOR A CAUSE
-Cocktails 4 A Cause benefiting the WithMerci Foundation-
HOUSTON, TX - Houston Texans Whitney Mercilus and Teammates will go head to head as bartenders all for a good cause. Mercilus and his foundation, The WithMerci Foundation, will host Cocktails 4 A Cause, Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 5 to 8 PM at Moxie's Bar and Grill (5000 Westheimer | Houston, TX 77056). The foundation is kicking off the event to raise money for its annual back-to-school event, Returning 2 Learning.
Mercilus created Returning 2 Learning to help kids in the Houston Independent School District return to class after Hurricane Harvey devastated thousands of families in the Houston and surrounding areas. Mercilus donated $100k of his personal money to make sure the kids had everything they needed. Last year the event kicked off at Atherton Elementary school, where 300 kids received backpacks, school clothes, school supplies, hair-cuts and styling, food from McDonald's and were entertained by bounce houses and music from Radio One. H.I.S.D. Special Education Department received $20,000 and Smartie Pants Academy received $65,000 to help rebuild their schools. This year Returning 2 Learning will take place on the new campus of Lawson Middle School (14000 Stancliff | Houston, TX 77045) on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 10 AM to 2 PM. This year the WithMerci Foundation will be able to serve 500 kids and in addition to everything the kids received last year, this year the kids will also receive free health screenings.
"I have been blessed to bless others and it is beyond a privilege. Last year, I just wanted to be able to do my part and help put a smile on the kids' faces. The expenses a family has to get their children ready to go back to school can be hard so if we all pitch in we can make a difference. So having a little fun with my teammate to change a life, why not.....and of course, I am the better bartender," Houston Texans Whitney Mercilus.
Happy Hour attendees can expect to bid on Whitney Mercilus memorabilia, mix and mingle with Houston Texans players and celebrity guests, take pictures in the photo booth and also purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win tickets to the Dallas vs. Houston game on October 7, 2018. Tickets are $20 for Cocktails 4 A Cause, which includes your first drink.
