CHESTER PITTS TEAMS UP WITH HOUSTON TEXANS PLAYERS AT COSTCO
-TO TAKE SINGLE FATHERS AND THEIR FAMILIES SHOPPING- ***Benefiting The Chester Pitts Charitable Foundation***
WHAT: The Chester Pitts Charitable Foundation with their partner Costco Wholesale will host a shopping spree for nearly 10 pre-selected Single Fathers and their families in need at Costco Wholesale-Galleria. During the event, Chester Pitts and his friends...Houston Texans Whitney Mercilous, Xavier Su'a Filo, Duane Brown, Brian Peters and David Quessenberry; former Houston Texans Wade Smith, Danieal Manning and Chris Myers; Washington Nationals Caleb Ramsey and Houston Fitness Trainer Robert McNeil; the foundation representatives and Costco employees will help spread Christmas cheer as they shop with the families and provide them with $350 gift cards from the foundation and gifts from the Costco employees. All families were chosen based on need from Miller Intermediate School (Alief Independent School District). Families will also participate in a holiday craft project, as part of the foundation's mission to encourage arts to underprivileged youth.
WHY: Chester Pitts: "Every day when I wake up, I ask myself, 'who can I add value to today,' because it's not about me. It's all about helping someone else. And, at this time of the year there are many opportunities to help children in need and make sure they too have a great Christmas. It's important for them to know there are people out there who care."
The Chester Pitts Charitable Foundation is committed to celebrating artistic expression through programs that stimulate minds, broaden knowledge and embrace the spirit of youth. The foundation provides scholarships for youth to attend summer art and music camps, purchases art supplies for local nonprofits, as well as sponsors art workshops for youth. The foundation also provides underprivileged youth the opportunity to gain exposure to Houston's popular attractions, such as the Houston Symphony.
