CHESTER PITTS & CELEBRITY FRIENDS' 'STRIKE OUT FOR THE ARTS'

-Charity bowling event raised $85k for the

Chester Pitts Charitable Foundation-

HOUSTON, TX - Original Texan Chester Pitts teamed up with his celebrity friends to 'Strike Out for the Arts'. In spite of the Houston weather supporters of the foundation helped raised just over $85,000 (eighty-five thousand dollars) for the Chester Pitts Charitable Foundation (CPCF). CPCF's mission is to evoke artistic interest in the community through programs designed to inspire natural creativity, arouse enthusiasm for knowledge, and energize the spirit in the youth.

'Strike Out for the Arts' was emceed by iHeart Media 93.7 the Beat Radio personality, Devi Dev, and sounds by DJ Cruize Control on Tuesday, June 30th from 6 to 10 pm at Bowlmor Houston (925 Bunker Hill).

Celebrities and other notables in attendance: Houston Texans Duane Brown, Whitney Merilius, Jeff Tarpinian and Ben Jones; NFL current and former players N.D. Kalu, Wade Smith, Jessie Tuggle, Charlie Anderson, Shaun Rogers, DJ Hayden, Moran Norris, Joseph Addai, Ahmard Hall and Travis Johnson; other celebrities NBA Champion and former Houston Rocket Robert Horry, Houston Dynamo Brian Ching; Brad and Joanna Marks of IW Marks; Cal and Hannah McNair (Houston Texans); City Controller Ron Green, Attorney and author Ronique Bastine Robinson, Trenton Davis of Indigo at Midtown and many more.

There was a special performance by the orchestra students of M.C. Williams Middle School.

'Strike Out for the Arts' will help CPCF reach their goals of creating and fostering support for programs that build self confidence and self achievement. "I am over joyed by the overwhelming response we received. With the bad weather, Houston showed up to support a cause that is very near and dear to my heart.
